The Nibel Region is full of FFVII nastalgia. From the return to the spooky castle where you played with Zack in Crisis Core to entering Clouds and Tifa's house. The back story further developes when you learn new details of Chocobo Sam, Aerith's mom having a relationship with Cid (the pilot) and learning of the importance of the Black Materia.
Things I like:
- Blue Chocobos make life easier to navigate. You can now fly/float with these chocobo types and it makes getting stuck in a moutain a thing of the past. Finding locations are much more enjoyable.
- The feens are a bit more difficult and allow for better materia strategy amongst the group.
- Cait Sith gets some camera time. Cait takes the front view leading the team through Shinra bases.
- The introduction of Vincent Valentine.
- The final chocobo race before heading into the golden saucer
Things i disliked:
- Using Cait Sith to throw boxes and navigate in a small warehouse repeatedly.
Tips Navigating Nibel:
- Continue to keep Access equiped, as monsters are more difficult and learning how to pressure them is key to obtaining skill based achievements.
- Use the group of Tifa, Cloud and Aerith. This group is a good combination of speed and strenght.
- Apply First Strike Materia to both Cloud and Aerith.
- Apply ATB Boost on Tifa and Aerith.
- Once battle begins ATB Boost Aerith and apply an Arcane Ward and ATB Ward on the same spot
- ATB Boost Tifa to Access the weakness
- Use the Synergy on a member of the group to follow Clouds spell based attacks while standing on the Arcane would to do double and triple the amount of spell damage while using the least amout of MP.
- Use Items throughout Nibel and conserve MP if you want to avoid sitting on chocobo benches after every battle as these monsters are slightly difficult in this region.
